Meet Chef Heather!

Heather started out in the F & B world at the age of 15 at a Mom & Pop Diner in Mitchell, South Dakota, where she worked as server for a week or so before she realized the kitchen is where she wanted to be. Her nomadic lifestyle took her all over the US & Canada where she took a “break” to raise her daughter as a single mother.

She studied under many talented Chefs in TX, KS, CO, FL while paying attention to each chef’s style, creating & developing her own along the way.

Heading back to CO and eventually buying a restaurant whose profits were in shambles, she planted her feet firmly for 20+ years. Her 1st restaurant was a hit, however, plumbing issues forced her and her staff to move locations. Soon after the move Heather sold to her long-time employee and friend in February, 2020.

Since the sale of her 2nd restaurant, Chef Heather has opened, re-opened (damages & closures due to Covid) & repaired 6 restaurants, including The Original Montana Club in Helena.

Wanting to give more to her community, Heather created Big Sky Culinary Classes! A primary focus of the company is about bringing communities together.

In association with S.T.O.K.E., BCDC, The Lodge, Pop-up & Pantry in Townsend, Chef Heather has styled a syllabus for high schools students that will enable them to acquire an above entry-level position in the food & beverage industry which also may include a ServSafe Food Handler Safety Certificate. She also teaches and guides these students carefully designed recipes that are prepared with ease and then served to the community for free!

Each variation of her classes are focused on bringing community, family & friends together to laugh, learn & dine!
